I haven’t been doing as much cartooning as I’d like, recently. But for at least one day, that’s changed. Today is Hourly Comic Day — a day when pro and amateur cartoonists around the globe participate in a fun little exercise, doing an autobiographical comic for every hour that they are awake during a single day. The subject of that comic should be drawn from the previous hour.
Not quite sure what that means? Well, it’s easy enough to explain visually, because I’ve participated in Hourly Comic Day for the past five years. You can see my results, if you want.
Doing comics this year is going to be a little more challenging. (I’m setting this post up ahead of time, so I have no idea how well it’s going to work out.) I’m back working in an office environment and, oddly enough, I’m betting they actually want me to get all my USUAL work done. I’ll have to try to squeeze the comics in when and where I can.
I’ll post the results here later in the week.
In the meanwhile, if YOU’RE someone who loves cartooning or even just doodling … you should join in! Hourly Comic Day is a lot of fun, and a good deal more challenging that it seems at first blush.
